Located in Elberfeld, Indiana, Tri-State CDL School was established to provide Class A Commerical Driver Training. We are an approved training provider under the Federal Motor Carrier Administration, appointed to provide mandatory Entry-Level Driver Training. As a federally approved school, we take pride in training safe, efficient drivers and provide them with an experience that no other commercial driving school can offer. Our staff and instructors have a combined 50+ years of commercial driving experience, and a combined 25+ years of driver training experience.

Steven Vass
Owner & Instructor
With over 30 years of driving experience and 25 years of driver training experience, Steve decided it was time to open a CDL school that was geared towards ensuring student success. Steve is our main weekend course instructor, and also owns KASE Trucking, LLC. next door to the school.
Kimberly Davis
Operations Manager
Your first and last contact, Kim is our shining star. With 12 years of CDL training experience, she maintains great relationships with our students and clients, and is always willing to help someone in their journey in obtaining their CDL. She works closely with our graduates as well. Not only is she our Operations Manager, but she also holds her CDL.
Alex Vass
Owner & Instructor
Alex has been dubbed "The King of Pre-Trip" by current and prior students. With 5 years of driving experience and 5 years of instructing experience, our students trust him with every step of the training process. As an owner, Alex prides himself on ensuring safe drivers come out of our program.
Am I subject to Entry-Level Driver Training?
-Visit Training Provider Registry (dot.gov) to learn more about who is subject to the Entry-Level Driver Training regulations.
Do I have to attend a school on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry?
-If you must take ELDT training, yes.
What courses do you offer?
-We offer Class A commercial driver training, manual transmission only. Visit our Courses page to learn more.
When do classes start?
Classes start weekly. You must be enrolled no later than 12pm CST on the Friday before the day you want to start class.
How many people per class?
-While each class size will vary, there is a 5 student maximum per class to ensure that each student gets adequate truck time.

Do you offer any tuition assistance options?
